DRAWING MEDIA & EQUIPMENT
The word "Media" means a material used by an artist to create a work,Therefore any means used to carry out a centre task under art is known as Media.
Common drawing media
* Pastel: a paste powdered pigment and gum, used for making crayons
* Charcoal: a black or dark gray form of carbon, produced by heating wood or another organic substance in an enclosed space with out air which can be useful for drawing and other purposes.
* Crayon: a stick of colored wax,chalks or charcoal,used for drawing and coloring.
* Conte: a hard drawing crayon made of clay and graphite.
* Marker: something used to make marks,especially a felt-tip pen.
Common bases for drawing
* Canvas: a piece of fabric on which a painting is done,especially in oils.
* Paper: a substance used for writing or drawing on.
* Sketchbook: a book of plain papers for making sketches on.
* Tracing paper: paper through which it is possible to see what is beneath, used for drawing a copy of something beneath
Other drawing equipment
* Compass: a device for finding directions.
* Eraser: used for cleaning mistakes.
* Drawing board: a flat surface wood used for placing sheets when drawing.
* French curve: a thin piece of plastic or other material with curved edges and a number of curved shapes cut out it, designed to help designers and engineers draw curves.
* Protractor: an instrument used to measure or mark out angles.
* Ruler: an instrument for drawing lines and takingb measurement
* Stencil: a thin sheet of material with a shape cut out of it through which paint or ink is applied to mark the shape on another surface.
* Stump: a short pointed piece of rolled paper used to shade and soften lines.
* Clips: used to hold paper and drawing board together
* Sharpener: used to sharpen a pencil or crayons
